Job summary

Valcon A/S is seeking a Data Specialist to become the technical authority on data topics for clients in the financial services sector. You will combine deep technical expertise with a strategic view to guide data solutions and data-driven transformation.

You will mentor specialists, lead complex data projects, and act as a trusted advisor in architectural discussions, with fluency in Dutch and English and a valid Netherlands work permit.

Qualifications

• Master's degree completed.
• 8+ years of experience, 4+ years in Finance or Risk data teams.
• Hands-on data delivery for finance/risk reporting and modelling.
• Strong Python and SQL knowledge.
• Experience with regulated data environments and BCBS-239, IFRS9 or Solvency principles.
• Leadership of complex data projects and communication with directors.

Responsibilities

• Design complex, scalable data solutions for risk, finance modelling and reporting.
• Guide architectural discussions and frame data requirements with clients.
• Mentor senior specialists and share knowledge through training.
• Act as trusted advisor to clients in data strategy and governance.
