Job summary

Valcon is seeking a Data Specialist in the Netherlands to be the technical authority on data solutions for financial institutions and guide data strategy.

You will design scalable risk and finance data models, lead complex data projects, mentor colleagues, and act as a trusted advisor to clients.

Requirements include a master’s degree, 8+ years in data, with 4+ in credit risk, and strong Python and SQL; fluent Dutch and English.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree completed.
• 8+ years of experience, 4+ years in the credit risk domain.
• Hands-on data-delivery for Credit Risk Modelling and Reporting.
• Strong knowledge of Python and SQL.
• Experience with Basel III/IV, IFRS 9, ECB guidelines.
• Leadership of projects and senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable data solutions for risk and finance modelling.
• Lead complex data projects and coordinate across teams.
• Guide architectural discussions and ensure data quality.
• Mentor senior specialists and share knowledge across the firm.
• Act as trusted advisor to clients, translating needs into data solutions.
