Job summary

Miele X in Amsterdam is seeking a Senior Data & AI Engineer to join a four-person team responsible for the data platform powering Miele's e-commerce domain. You will design and build scalable data solutions, integrate new data sources and shape architecture and engineering standards.

AI engineering is core: you will define the agent platform's architecture, develop AI agents, lead AI-native practices, mentor teammates, and collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to turn data and automation

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data or software engineering with ownership of complex technical solutions.
• Strong SQL and Python, able to design and review production-grade code.
• Knowledge of data warehousing and data modelling; scalable data structures.
• Experience delivering ELT pipelines and data integrations via APIs/external sources.
• Hands-on with coding AI agents and AI-assisted development; expand capabilities across data engineering.
• Ability to lead technical architecture and engineering standards; communicate pragmatic decisions.
• Experience collaborating with Analysts and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Willingness to mentor engineers and share knowledge across the team.
• Desire to advance in AI engineering and adopt emerging technologies into production.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve our data platform: manage architecture, ELT pipelines, data models, and data integrations.
• Shape our AI and agent capabilities: steer the agent platform, build AI agents, promote AI-native practices.
• Build applications and automations: create business-relevant apps and define architectures for automation workflows.
• Turn business needs into solutions: collaborate with Analysts and stakeholders to translate needs into technical solutions.
• Drive engineering standards: set technical standards, lead architectural decisions, improve quality and maintainability.
• Lead and enable others: mentor junior team members, provide technical support and share knowledge.
