Job summary

APL Logistics is seeking a Supervisory Customs Brokerage professional in Rotterdam to lead daily customs operations and ensure smooth clearance of shipments. You will supervise the team, maintain regulatory compliance, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.

The role requires 3–5 years in customs brokerage, strong knowledge of regulations, and fluency in English and Dutch, with German a plus.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in customs brokerage or related field
• Excellent knowledge of customs regulations
• Experience with Softpak and AI applications
• HS-code classification, Origin and Customs Value Calculations
• Experience with Limited fiscal Representation
• Knowledge of Customer KPI/SLA management
• Fluent English and Dutch; German a plus
• Experience in supervising/training a team is a plus

Responsibilities

• Oversee customs clearance processes for local imports, exports and transits
• Monitor daily activities quality and address non-conformance
• Review and approve complex customs declarations and non-fiscal obligations
• Establish and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Verify vendor invoices and coordinate with Finance for payment
• Assist with internal and external audits
• Plan work schedules and manage team's performance and training needs
