Job summary

GIGA Storage is seeking a (Senior) Contract Manager Construction & Projects to lead contractual management during the build of large‑scale energy storage projects across Europe. You will work closely with Project Managers, Legal Counsel, suppliers, EPC contractors and senior management to safeguard commercial interests.

You will be involved from negotiation onwards, overseeing obligations, variations and claims.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (Law, Civil/Electrical Engineering, Construction Management).
• At least 10 years of experience in contract management for large construction/energy projects.
• Strong knowledge of EPC contracts and frameworks such as FIDIC and UAV‑GC.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex EPC, FIDIC and UAV‑GC contracts through full project lifecycle.
• Monitor governance, risk and commercial interests across large-scale BESS projects.

About the role

As a (Senior) Contract Manager Construction & Projects, you will be the contractual lead during the construction phase of our BESS projects. You will be responsible for contract management throughout the development, procurement, construction and delivery phases of large‑scale energy storage projects. In this role, you will work closely with Project Managers, Legal Counsel, suppliers, EPC contractors and senior management.

You will be involved from the negotiation stage onwards and remain responsible for the contractual management of projects throughout the construction phase. You will oversee contractual obligations, monitor performance, assess variations and potential claims, and ensure that all parties meet their contractual commitments. This is not a role for someone who advises from the sidelines. Instead, you will be a hands‑on partner who understands how major construction and energy projects are delivered in practice.

You will work closely with the Project Manager, forming a strong partnership throughout the project lifecycle. While the Project Manager is responsible for technical delivery, you will safeguard contractual compliance, governance and the commercial interests of the project. You will actively participate in negotiations with international suppliers and contractors and have a direct impact on projects with investment values ranging from tens to hundreds of millions of euros.

Key responsibilities

• Manage complex EPC, FIDIC and UAV‑GC contracts throughout the full project lifecycle, from contract negotiation through to project completion.
• Monitor contractual obligations, governance, risk exposure and commercial interests across large‑scale BESS projects.
• Participate in negotiations with suppliers, contractors and other contract parties, acting as a contractual adviser and sparring partner to project teams and management.
• Assess claims, variations, change orders and performance obligations, ensuring proper contractual administration throughout project execution.

What you bring

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, for example in Law, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Technical Business Administration or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of experience in contract management within complex construction, energy, industrial or infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience with EPC contracts and strong knowledge of contract frameworks such as FIDIC and UAV‑GC.
• Experience working with international contracts and multidisciplinary project environments.
• Strong command of the English language. Dutch is considered an advantage.
• A solid understanding of both the contractual and practical realities of large‑scale construction and infrastructure projects.
• An independent and entrepreneurial mindset, with strong communication skills and the confidence to operate at the negotiation table.
