Job summary

Oxford Global Resources is seeking a Senior Technician Composites for an autonomous role in a state-of-the-art laboratory focused on wind energy materials development.

You will manufacture test specimens from glass fibre, carbon fibre and epoxy, perform mechanical and physical tests, analyze data, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with engineers to advance next-generation turbine blades.

Qualifications

• Five to ten years of experience with composite materials in a laboratory/R&D environment.
• Knowledge of manufacturing techniques and specimen preparation.
• Experience with mechanical and physical testing using laboratory equipment.
• Ability to analyse and interpret testing data accurately.
• Strong communication and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture composite test specimens using glass fibre, carbon fibre, and epoxy-based materials.
• Perform physical and mechanical material testing, including tensile, compression, and strength testing.
• Operate and maintain laboratory testing equipment and associated instruments.
• Collect, process, and interpret test results and experimental data.
• Support material development and validation activities for composite structures.
• Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of laboratory activities and test outcomes.
• Troubleshoot testing procedures and recommend process improvements where appropriate.
• Collaborate with engineers, researchers, and technical stakeholders on development projects.
• Mentor and support junior laboratory technicians and less experienced team members.
• Maintain laboratory safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.
