Job summary

TNO Geological Survey of the Netherlands (TNO-GDN) in Utrecht seeks a Senior Communications Advisor to lead the communications function and raise the organisation's profile in the subsurface domain.

You will develop and maintain the overarching communications strategy, advise senior management on reputation and positioning, and ensure coherence across channels. You will lead a small team and work with multidisciplinary colleagues to shape stakeholder plans and public engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Communications, Journalism or another related field.
• At least ten years of relevant work experience in a similar role, preferably within a scientific organisation.
• Excellent writing skills and an excellent command of Dutch, both spoken and written, as well as a good command of English.

Responsibilities

• Develop and keep the overarching communications strategy up to date, ensuring alignment with the TNO-GDN strategy.
• Advise the management team on reputation, positioning and communications approach.
• Safeguard coherence between different communication activities and channels, often in collaboration with Marketing & Communications.
• Set priorities for the communications agenda with the management team.
• Lead and coach the communications team in day-to-day work.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of stakeholder management plans.
