Over the coming years we aim to significantly expand this knowledge toward climate adaptation. This will enable us to predict the impact of spatial developments and transport‑related measures and policies and to demonstrate the contribution of climate‑adaptive solutions. Our goal is to support policymakers in creating a climate‑resilient living environment by providing practical tools and knowledge. Consequently, our research results are directly applicable for municipalities, regions and national governments.

What will be your role?

You will play a key role in our ambition to collaborate with governments, businesses and knowledge institutions to create a sustainable and climate‑resilient living environment. Although our expertise group has been active in this area for years, we have recently decided to invest further in this as a strategic growth area.

  • Deep knowledge and an active network within the climate adaptation ecosystem, preferably in both academia and among public and private partners of TNO.
  • Existing network within cities, universities and businesses in the field of climate adaptation in an urban context.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire others, building on your domain knowledge and skills.
  • Strong conceptual and analytical skills and the ability to translate complex technology and market needs into concrete innovation opportunities for clients.
  • Successfully contributed to large strategic project proposals, such as national or European programmes or contract research.
