Job summary

Trengo is a fast-growing Dutch scale-up building an AI-powered customer engagement platform. We’re looking for a Platform Engineer to own the Kubernetes/GitOps stack, upgrade EKS clusters, automate deployments, and migrate EC2 workloads to Kubernetes while maintaining a healthy fleet.

You’ll partner with product and AI teams, manage multi-account AWS infra with Terraform, and raise observability, security, and cost discipline across the platform.

Qualifications

• Production experience running Kubernetes and Docker-based workloads, including cluster upgrades, autoscaling and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience deploying to Kubernetes with GitOps and CI/CD pipelines (we use FluxCD and GitHub Actions).
• 5+ years in Cloud Infrastructure, Platform Engineering or DevOps roles, with deep AWS experience (EKS, EC2, IAM, VPC networking).
• Strong Terraform and Linux skills, and a solid understanding of observability, secrets management and least-privilege access.
• Excellent communication skills and experience mentoring engineers and bringing teams along when tools or ways of working change.

Responsibilities

• Work on our EKS clusters and GitOps platform: upgrades, security, autoscaling and the core platform components.
• Improve how teams deploy to Kubernetes: the GitOps workflows, CI/CD pipelines and self-service templates developers use to ship their apps.
• Help migrate our core Laravel application from EC2 to Kubernetes, while keeping the existing EC2 fleet healthy.
• Manage AWS infrastructure with Terraform, and improve observability, alerting, security and cost across the platform.
• Bring engineers along: mentor them, pair on platform changes, write clear docs and help define our engineering standards.
