Job summary

Royal Terberg Group in the Netherlands seeks a Senior Cloud & Platform Engineer to design, build and maintain the Azure infrastructure and Databricks platform foundation powering our data programs.

You will own infrastructure, automation and platform configuration, collaborating with Data Engineers and IT specialists to deliver secure, scalable solutions across environments and align with engineering standards.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and operating Azure environments using private networking, identity controls, infrastructure-as-code and automated deployments in production environments.
• Production Terraform experience, including reusable modules, state management and safe changes across environments.
• Hands-on Databricks platform administration, including Unity Catalog, workspace access, storage integration and identities.
• Experience building infrastructure CI/CD pipelines, preferably using Azure DevOps, with validation, reviews, testing and controlled promotion.
• Experience operating cloud platforms, including troubleshooting, recovery, lifecycle management and cost optimization.
• Experience translating ambiguous requirements into platform designs, evaluating alternatives and developing solutions collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain the Azure infrastructure and Databricks platform foundation for data products.
• Own and evolve Terraform codebase and Azure DevOps pipelines, automate deployments and ensure versioned changes.
• Maintain and evolve Databricks platform configuration, Unity Catalog, storage integration and identities.
• Monitor and improve platform reliability, security, performance and cost, reducing operational effort.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers and IT to translate requirements into practical platform solutions and share knowledge.
