Job summary

ALTEN Nederland is seeking a Medior Data Engineer to strengthen our data engineering capabilities and contribute to complex, data-driven projects. You design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using Databricks in Azure and AWS, and collaborate within Agile/DevOps teams.

You will develop data solutions with Python, PySpark, and Pandas, participate in CI/CD, and help improve data platform performance and scalability across our client projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a comparable role
• Hands-on Databricks experience including Jobs, pipelines, Unity Catalog, Asset Bundles
• Strong Python, PySpark and Pandas skills
• Experience in data-governed environments with CI/CD, Git, and automation
• Background in software development or CS is a plus
• Affinity with mathematics and statistics
• Familiarity with Scrum, Agile, and DevOps
• Proactive, eager-to-learn mindset
• Fluency in English and Dutch is a bonus

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and jobs using Databricks
• Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines in Azure and/or AWS
• Work with Databricks Jobs, pipelines, Unity Catalog, Asset Bundles
• Collect, clean, transform, and load data for analytics
• Develop data solutions with Python, PySpark, and Pandas
• Apply engineering practices: unit tests and code reviews
• Collaborate in Agile/Scrum and DevOps teams
• Improve data platforms for performance, scalability, reliability
