Job summary

Lely is hiring a Senior Cloud Engineer to design and build secure, scalable cloud platforms supporting our global operations. You will collaborate with architects, DevOps, security, and development teams to translate requirements into reliable Azure-based solutions.

You will lead IaC/CI/CD initiatives, strengthen cloud governance and security, and coach colleagues in a hybrid Netherlands-based setting.

Qualifications

• Requires HBO-level education and 5+ years of experience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
• Microsoft Azure certification at associate level (AZ-104) or equivalent knowledge is preferred.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, automation, and CI/CD practices.
• Knowledge of DevOps principles and cloud security, governance, monitoring, availability, and continuity.

Your work helps shape the digital foundation behind Lely's global operations. As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you design and develop cloud platforms that enable innovation, connect international teams, and support business-critical services used by employees and customers around the world.

Imagine building cloud solutions that not only support today's applications but also create the foundation for tomorrow's digital services. In this role, you combine technical expertise with practical execution, helping teams adopt cloud technologies that are secure, scalable, and ready for future growth.

You work closely with architects, developers, security specialists, suppliers, and operational teams. One day, you may be discussing platform architecture and cloud strategy. The next, you are helping a DevOps team automate deployments or advising stakeholders on how to strengthen security and performance. You enjoy turning complex technical challenges into practical solutions that create value across the business.

Your Key Responsibilities Include

To Be Successful In This Role, You Bring

• HBO working and thinking level.
• At least 5 years of experience working with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
• Relevant Microsoft Azure certification at associate level, preferably Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), or demonstrable equivalent knowledge.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, automation, and CI/CD practices.
• Knowledge of DevOps principles and the operational management of cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of cloud security, governance, monitoring, availability, and continuity.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for addressing complex cloud challenges.
• The ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice To Have

• Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305), DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400), Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500), or similar advanced certifications.
• Experience coaching colleagues and sharing knowledge within a cloud engineering team.
• Experience working in an international organization.
• Dutch language skills alongside strong English communication skills.
