Job summary

Van Oord is seeking a Senior Civil 3D Modeller to strengthen our Tendering & Estimating department in the Netherlands. You will develop high-quality 3D models and technical designs and act as a technical point of contact within the team.

From Rotterdam, you will contribute to standards, processes, and training for Civil 3D and BIM, supporting innovative water infrastructure projects. You bring a completed bachelor's in civil engineering and about seven years' hands-on Civil 3D experience.

Qualifications

• Completed Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Approximately 7 years of relevant Civil 3D experience.
• Experience setting up models, corridors, surfaces, profiles and grading in Civil 3D.
• Strong communication and ability to guide colleagues, both Dutch and English.

Responsibilities

• Create high-quality 3D models, designs and technical drawings.
• Work with surfaces, corridors, profiles and grading in Civil 3D.
• Develop, maintain and share Civil 3D standards, templates and workflows.
• Act as subject matter expert and contribute to knowledge sharing.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure data quality and consistency.

Job description

As a Senior Civil 3D Modeller, you play a key role within our Tendering & Estimating department. You are responsible for developing high-quality 3D models and technical designs and additionally act as a technical point of contact within the team. With your expertise, you contribute to innovative solutions for complex maritime and civil engineering projects in the Netherlands.

In this role, you will play an active part in developing and improving standards, processes, and training programs for Civil 3D and BIM, supporting innovative water infrastructure projects.

You are a technically strong professional who is not afraid to tackle complex design challenges and who contributes to both project results and the development of colleagues through a proactive, independent, and solution-oriented approach.

In addition, you bring:

• A completed Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a comparable technical discipline.
• Approximately 7 years of relevant work experience as a Civil 3D Engineer, Civil Designer, or in a similar role, with demonstrated experience using Autodesk Civil 3D.

• Experience in setting up models, corridors, surfaces, profiles, grading, and other Civil 3D functionalities.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to guide and coach colleagues.
• Excellent command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written, as well as a good command of the English language.
• Experience in hydraulic engineering, maritime, or infrastructure projects is a strong advantage.

Your responsibilities include:

• Creating high-quality 3D models, designs, and technical drawings.
• Working with surfaces, corridors, profiles, grading, sections, and Subassembly Composer in Civil 3D, ensuring compliance with NLCS standards for dike and flood defense projects.
• Developing, improving, and maintaining standards, templates, and workflows within Civil 3D.
• Acting as a subject matter expert and actively contributing to knowledge development and knowledge sharing.
• Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the quality, consistency, and integrity of design data.
• Supporting project teams in resolving complex technical challenges.

Your Working Environment

You will become part of a multidisciplinary team of engineers and modellers within an international project environment. From Rotterdam, you will work on challenging dyke reinforcement projects. You will support the product line Infra Land.
