Benchmark is seeking a Senior C++ Firmware Engineer to own firmware subsystems for advanced VNA and Test & Measurement products. You will develop VNA and mmWave capabilities, calibration workflows, and SCPI control within a large existing codebase.

You will work on high-frequency measurement systems in a hybrid Almelo environment, collaborating with international teams and applying AI-assisted development tools to improve quality and efficiency.

Formación

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field
• Strong professional experience with modern C++
• Experience with large instrument software or firmware codebases
• Experience with C++ templates, generic programming, modern design
• Experience with Qt development
• Experience with firmware, hardware communication, device control
• Advanced multithreading knowledge
• Experience with Visual Studio and CMake
• Strong understanding of SCPI protocols
• Experience with Python-based automated testing and verification
• Experience with unit/integration/system testing
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and own work packages
• Strong English written and verbal communication
• Experience with distributed/international teams using Git

Responsabilidades

• Take technical ownership of firmware and software subsystems for Test & Measurement products
• Analyze and extend existing C++ software architectures and instrument platforms
• Develop and integrate VNA and mmWave measurement functionality
• Implement calibration-related features and measurement workflows
• Support integration of mmWave converters and high-frequency measurement capabilities
• Design, implement, and maintain SCPI-controlled instrument functionality
• Develop and execute automated verification and validation activities
• Create and maintain Python-based test automation frameworks
• Perform debugging, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and performance optimization
• Ensure software quality through unit, integration, and system testing
• Collaborate with system architects, firmware and hardware engineers, and customers
• Identify risks and integration challenges early
• Contribute to technical documentation and engineering best practices
• Apply AI-assisted tools to improve productivity and code quality
