Job summary

Benchmark seeks an experienced (Senior) Software Integration Engineer to drive migration, integration, validation, and optimization of advanced Real-Time Spectrum Analyzer software on a new platform. You will own complex C++ codebases, bridge generations of technology, and ensure performance and reliability in a hybrid Almelo environment.

You will collaborate with software, firmware, FPGA, and systems teams across locations to achieve functional equivalence and scalable architecture, leveraging

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Extensive professional experience developing software in C++.
• Strong Linux development experience.
• Experience with large and complex software systems.
• Proven ability to independently drive technical work packages.
• Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills.
• Strong understanding of software architecture and system integration.
• Experience with Git, modern software development workflows, and CMake.
• Ability to translate technical requirements into robust software solutions.
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor AI, or equivalent platforms.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, understand, and reverse-engineer complex existing C++ software architectures.
• Lead software migration and platform porting activities within Linux-based environments.
• Design and implement architectural improvements, software abstractions, and integration solutions.
• Validate and verify functional equivalence between legacy and modernized software platforms.
• Investigate and resolve complex software, integration, and performance bottlenecks.
• Execute root-cause analyses and drive technical problem-solving activities.
• Develop automated verification and validation strategies to guarantee software quality.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to align system requirements and implementation.
• Evaluate technical risks and proactively mitigate integration challenges.
• Optimize software maintainability, robustness, and long-term scalability.
• Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing within the engineering organization.
• Leverage modern AI-assisted development tools, including GitHub Copilot, Cursor AI, and similar technologies, to enhance development efficiency, testing, and software quality.
