Tony’s Chocolonely is hiring a Business Controller to join a fast-growing scale-up, reporting to the COO. You will own core controlling cycles from forecasting and budgeting to reporting, and lead the strategic direction of our operations cost base.
You will bring structure, implement governance, and ensure financial decisions keep pace with growth. In early months you’ll map cost drivers and deliver insights that sharpen performance across global supply and operations.
Tony’s Chocolonely is committed to ending exploitation in cocoa. We are an impact company that makes chocolate, not a chocolate company that makes impact. With incredibly tasty chocolate, we lead by example, demonstrating that ethical practices and success can go hand in hand. Through Tony's Open Chain (TOC), mission allies like Albert Heijn, Ben & Jerry's, Jokolade, and Aldi have embraced a fairer, more transparent supply chain for their chocolate too.
As a Business Controller at Tony’s, you’ll step into a fast-growing scale-up environment where supply chain complexity meets fast decision-making. As the right hand to our COO, you will not only own the core controlling cycles - from forecasting and budgeting to reporting - but also take a leading role in shaping the strategic direction of our operations cost base.
You will bring structure where things are still being built, introduce governance and control mechanisms that support - not hinder - speed, and ensure financial decisions keep pace with our growth. Your focus will go beyond tracking costs: you’ll question assumptions, evaluate trade-offs, and help operational leaders make smarter, more informed decisions. Whether we’re launching new logistics setups, scaling production, or onboarding suppliers, you’ll be the one ensuring the numbers support our ambition. In your first months, you’ll prioritise building a grip on our global cost drivers and delivering insight that sharpens performance. Over time, you’ll be the architect of a professionalised, forward-looking operations control environment - and a key partner in Tony’s long-term growth.
In this role, the real challenge lies in navigating ambiguity, connecting financial insights to operational reality, and influencing stakeholders across all levels of the organisation. You’ll translate complexity into clear decision frameworks, build scalable reporting and planning structures, and bring financial clarity to an area of the business that is constantly evolving.
At Tony's you will get the opportunity to be part of something extraordinary; first and foremost, by making real impact in the world but also enjoying the nice benefits we provide as you help us succeed. We’re dedicated to enabling all Tonys to grow and develop their careers and therefore we offer training programs, regular feedback cycles, coaching and a generous L&D budget. We also offer a wide range of additional benefits, including a luxurious vega‑lunch at the office, company bonus, minimum of 28 holidays, inspirational team updates, unforgettable events and unlimited chocolate. But we also know chocolate won’t cover the bills, so we’ve made sure your salary is just as rewarding, for this role that meansa salary between €85k-€115k on a yearly basis, including holiday pay. Unfortunately, for this role we are not able to support with a relocation.
At Tony's we are convinced that diversity of thought, background and perspectives will make us stronger (...just like the different flavors of our chocolate assortment). Our mission is founded on principles of equity and justice, and we are actively seeking candidates who bring new perspectives and life experiences, especially from underrepresented groups. We look forward to your application!
