Your Role In Our Story

As a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer at ACT, you will have a key role in managing and modernizing the Business Intelligence Platform. The BI Platform is completely built on top of Microsoft Azure SSaS Services and follows the Microsoft Reference Architecture for small and midsize businesses.

In addition to daily tasks such as Data Analysis, Data Integration, Data Modelling, and Report Design, you will also be responsible for gathering requirements from the business, testing, implementing or changing CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring the usage of deliverables.

On both tactical and strategic levels, your input will be valuable for changes to the platform, including the addition or removal of Azure services, cost optimization, security and compliance improvements, and task automation. Transitioning to Microsoft Fabric is in the roadmap, along with replacing certain platform components to enable additional technical capabilities such as unit testing and increased operational efficiency.

Operational activities such as business support and release management are shared across team members and will also fall within your responsibilities from time to time. We are also looking to create better and automated documentation of our Data Platform using Gen AI to improve efficiency, and we appreciate creative candidates who can contribute to this effort.

You will actively participate in all scrum activities within BI and help the team improve our way of working. Working across most departments in the company, you will build a high-level business view. Prior knowledge of business areas including Sales, Finance, Operations, and Risk is highly appreciated.

In Essence, Your Role Involves

• Managing and enriching the Data Platform content and architecture
• Integrating new source systems and transforming data using Azure Data Factory
• Designing, implementing, and documenting new Data Models
• Creating and optimizing data pipelines in ADF, Function Apps, and Logic Apps
• Migrating data between various source systems and applying best practices on data migration and reconciliation
• Developing and managing semantic models in Power BI and tabular models in AAS based on Microsoft best practices
• Implementing row‑level security in AAS and Power BI
• Creating and updating Power BI reports and dashboards
• Coding or enriching CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps
• Communicating well with business users and helping them transform requirements into desired outputs
• Demonstrating Data and Analytics solutions to business counterparts

Your Expertise

• IT & Business, Business Information Technology degree, or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms
• Experience with data platforms such as Azure Synapse Analytics, Microsoft Fabric, DataBricks, or Snowflake
• Experience with various data analytics architectures
• Proficient in SQL, with knowledge of Python highly appreciated
• Strong understanding of relational, dimensional, and graph data modeling techniques
• Knowledge of concepts including Medallion Architecture, Data Mesh, and Data Vault is highly valued
• Ability to write, execute, interpret, and optimize SQL queries or Python scripts
• Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools is an advantage
• Experience with Git and building CI/CD pipelines is an advantage
• Experience with Azure Logic Apps, Azure Synapse Analytics, PowerApps, and Azure Automation is an advantage
• Knowledge of data streaming and real‑time analytics solutions is an advantage
