Job summary

SBM Offshore is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and operate a scalable data platform on Microsoft Fabric, ensuring secure, high‑performing data pipelines across Bronze, Silver, and Gold zones.

You will lead ETL/ELT work with PySpark and Python, collaborate with data architects and analysts, enforce governance, and mentor engineers while promoting DevOps and observability across the Fabric environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required.
• Master’s degree in Data Science or related field preferred.
• Advanced data engineering certifications preferred (e.g., Azure, Fabric).

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of scalable data solutions across Bronze-Silver-Gold.
• Design and maintain data pipelines using Fabric, Azure Data Factory and ADLS/Onelake.
• Develop, test, and deploy SQL, PySpark and Python ETL/ELT workflows.
• Collaborate with data architects, data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines for performance.
• Ensure governance, security and regulatory compliance across data lifecycle.
• Maintain documentation and promote reusable automation frameworks.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster technical excellence.
