Qualifications

• Senior-level backend engineering experience (no specific years stated).
• Experience designing, implementing, deploying, monitoring, and supporting backend services end to end.
• Proficiency in Go for API gateway development
• Proficiency in Python for AI agent services
• Experience with REST and WebSocket endpoints
• Experience with domain models, repository interfaces, and database migrations
• Experience defining and versioning protobuf API contracts
• Knowledge of authentication, authorization, session handling, rate limits, quotas, and abuse protection
• Experience with structured logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting
• Experience with tool calling, orchestration, and third-party or portfolio API integrations
• Experience with prompt and model configuration, versioning, and evaluation harnesses
• Experience optimizing inference latency and cost through caching, batching, model routing, and token budgets
• Experience with Postgres, Redis, queues, retries, idempotency, and dead-letter paths
• Experience maintaining Terraform infrastructure on GCP, including Cloud Run, secrets, and IAM
• Knowledge of GDPR and LGPD data retention, deletion, and export requirements
• Familiarity with Conventional Commits, pull requests, pre-merge quality checks, testing, and code review

Responsibilities

• Own backend services end to end, including design, implementation, deployment, monitoring, and pager support
• Design, build, and maintain Go REST and WebSocket API endpoints for the mobile app and WhatsApp
• Own domain models, repository interfaces, and database migrations
• Add handlers and services as product features require
• Define and version shared protobuf API contracts
• Maintain authentication, authorization, and session handling
• Enforce rate limits, quotas, and abuse protection
• Instrument services with structured logging, metrics, tracing, and alerts
• Extend Python AI agent runtime with tool calling, orchestration, and API integrations
• Manage prompt and model configuration, versioning, and evaluation harnesses
• Optimize inference latency and cost using caching, batching, model routing, and token budgets
• Build and maintain memory and context layers on Postgres and Redis
• Handle asynchronous and long-running work with queues, retries, idempotency, and dead-letter paths
• Design Postgres schemas, indexes, queries, and connection pooling
• Maintain Redis caching, ephemeral state, and pub/sub for real-time chat
• Maintain Terraform infrastructure on GCP, including Cloud Run services, secrets, and IAM
• Assist with deployments, rollbacks, and environment configuration
• Implement GDPR and LGPD data retention, deletion, and export paths
• Support incident response and document outcomes
• Harden the backend for scale, forecast capacity and costs, improve observability, contribute to zero-downtime migrations, and onboard future engineers
