Job summary

Priva Energy is building software systems to manage and optimize energy in real-world environments, from greenhouses to buildings. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you’ll shape production services, integrate optimization logic, and strengthen the cloud/DevOps foundation.

Qualifications

• Around 5 years of experience in a software engineering role across backend/production systems, cloud infrastructure, front-end, or optimization integration.
• Experience taking systems into production and maintaining reliable operation.
• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to work with complex, unfamiliar systems.
• Based in the Netherlands and able to be in the office 2–3 days/week.
• Nice to have: Python, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, SQL, KQL, Linux, React/TypeScript.

Responsibilities

• Design and build backend services processing data and running optimization logic for products across Neo Heat, Neo Light, Neo Building, and Neo Smart.
• Contribute to end-to-end features including front-end where it speeds value delivery.
• Build and maintain APIs for internal and external integration.
• Integrate optimization and forecasting models into scalable production systems.
• Participate in cloud infrastructure and DevOps tasks to improve CI/CD, monitoring, and deployment.
