Job summary

Loop is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to own the backend platform behind Loop’s connected products. You’ll design, build, deploy, and operate cloud services that power our hardware, mobile apps, and cloud ecosystem with ownership and speed.

You’ll collaborate with Product, Firmware, Hardware, and Mobile Engineering to translate product requirements into scalable, secure backends, APIs, and data flows, ensuring reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in backend or full-stack software engineering.
• Experience designing, deploying, and operating backend services.
• Production experience with Google Cloud Platform and Firebase.
• Security-first mindset and secure software development practices.

Responsibilities

• Own the backend services powering Loop’s connected products end-to-end
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable backend services and APIs
• Operate cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform, including Firebase Authentication and Cloud Storage
• Own deployment pipelines, environments, monitoring, health, and platform reliability
• Design secure backend solutions, including access control and security reviews
• Collaborate with cross-functional product, firmware, hardware, and mobile teams to deliver device-to-cloud integration and robust APIs
• Provide technical direction to software development partners
• Strengthen engineering practices through code reviews and mentoring
