Job summary

InShared, a Dutch online insurer, seeks a Senior Backend Developer (PHP & SQL) to join the financial platform team responsible for billing, collections and payments. You will own critical financial processes and help modernize the architecture while ensuring reliable operation of the platform.

You will work with PHP and SQL, leveraging Laravel or Symfony, and contribute to CI/CD and cloud modernization while collaborating with internal teams and external partners.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience developing applications in PHP.
• Strong SQL programming skills with complex database logic.
• Knowledge of modern PHP frameworks such as Laravel or Symfony.
• Experience with CI/CD, cloud platforms or platform modernization is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of business‑critical financial processes.
• Analyse and resolve production incidents.
• Support service desk tickets when needed.
• Improve integrations with internal and external systems.
• Contribute to architectural improvements and technical modernization.
• Help move towards a modern CI/CD and Continuous Delivery approach.
