Job summary

HeadFirst x Impellam is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join its Global Platform Team in Hoofddorp. You will own the reliability of our Azure-based platform, working hands-on with Cloud, Data, and AI engineers to improve resilience, observability, and automation.

You will design self-healing systems, automate tasks with Terraform and GitHub Actions, and lead incident analysis and long-term improvements while staying deeply engaged with production systems.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as an SRE/DevOps/Platform Engineer in production environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps).
• Experience with observability tools (Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics).
• Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash) and automation focus.

Responsibilities

• Improve reliability, availability, and performance of the Azure platform and production environments.
• Build and improve monitoring, logging, and alerting with Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Azure Monitor, and Log Analytics.
• Automate operational tasks using IaC and scripting.
• Design self-healing capabilities and automated remediation.
• Investigate incidents, perform root-cause analyses, and implement long-term improvements.
• Define and improve SLIs and SLOs.
• Collaborate with Cloud Engineers to enhance design, resilience, and security.
• Support Data/AI teams by improving Azure Databricks reliability.
• Raise engineering standards for observability, automation, and reliability.
