Axelera AI is seeking a Senior AI Application Engineer to own LLM and VLM support in Metis and Europa AIPUs, shipping features in the Voyager SDK.

You will combine ML research with software engineering, using AI coding agents to build, test and verify your work, while aligning with productization and deployment goals across Europe.

The role emphasizes collaboration with cross-functional teams, rigorous validation, and contributing to GenAI roadmap on edge devices.

Qualifikationen

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with ML inference or ML tooling.
• Strong Python and PyTorch, with production-quality software experience.
• Solid understanding of transformer inference and KV caching.
• Experience shipping production-quality software for ML workloads and tools.
• Daily use of AI coding agents on real codebases.

Aufgaben

• Study new LLM and VLM families and architectures and prototype them on Metis and Europa.
• Productize results into Voyager SDK features with stable APIs, tests, documentation and release gates.
• Define model-side contracts detailing inputs, outputs, weights and persistent state and hand to the compiler team.
• Integrate LLM/VLM serving into the Voyager SDK pipeline: prefill and decode, KV-cache management, streaming outputs.
• Collaborate with regression and quantization owners to measure accuracy and close gaps.
• Extend the model enablement platform with environments accessing compiler, runtime and hardware.
• Recommend GenAI directions for Voyager SDK, agents and edge-device demos.
