Lefebvre Sdu is seeking a Senior AI Engineer (Agentic AI) in The Hague to shape GenIA-L's intelligent core. You’ll work on production-grade AI components, orchestrating agents and ensuring reliable, source-backed answers for legal professionals.

Join a long-established European knowledge leader with a focus on making complex legal insights accessible. The role blends hands-on engineering with strategic direction in a hybrid setup, two office days weekly in The Hague.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in software or ML engineering, around 5 years or more.
• Strong experience in agentic AI.
• In-depth knowledge of Python and experience with relevant machine learning libraries.
• You’ve built LLM applications and run them in production.
• Solid experience with agent frameworks such as LangGraph and LangChain, tool calling, MCP or similar orchestration.
• Experience with evaluation/observability tools such as MLflow or LiteLLM is a plus.
• Strong backend experience including REST APIs and Postgres databases.
• Experience with Kubernetes.
• Experience in knowledge-intensive domains is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define the agent architecture of GenIA-L and how agents work together.
• Translate legal processes into technical solutions and connect components effectively.
• Ensure knowledge packages and pipelines scale and stay up to date.
• Develop metrics and observability to prove quality of answers and source attribution.
• Prioritise team work and flag technical or process risks early.
• Explore new developments and turn ideas into practical product improvements.
• Coach medior engineers and collaborate with editors and subject-matter experts.
