Job summary

Helios Software Group is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing team. You will work alongside the Senior Director of Finance and the Head of Finance in a hybrid role with occasional travel for period closings, audits and collaboration.

You will lead month-end close, perform balance sheet reconciliations, manage intercompany activity, process payroll tax and VAT returns, ensure key controls, prepare KPIs, support audits, and mentor AP/AR staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience.
• Multi-currency and multi-divisional experience are key requirements.
• A professional qualification in bookkeeping and/or accounting is an asset.
• Proficient in MS Office, specifically Excel.
• Netsuite experience is a plus.
• Fluency in English is required; other languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform financial period close tasks and complex journal entries/accounting analysis.
• Perform Balance Sheet analysis and reconciliations.
• Follow up with Vendors regarding missing invoices and cost accruals for P&L review.
• Process payments, bank transfers and ensure approvals are in place.
• Reconcile inter-company transactions.
• Prepare payroll tax returns, VAT returns & ICP declarations.
• Ensure key controls and procedures are respected and implemented.
• Prepare financial KPIs and review for accuracy.
• Lead annual statutory audits, year-end closings and tax filings.
• Prepare ad-hoc performance analysis and management reporting.
• Perform monthly variance analysis of actual vs. plan.
• Support Head of Finance in oversight of AP/AR analysts and supervise team.
• Participate in special projects.
