Job summary

Catawiki is seeking a Security Tech Lead Manager to oversee a 2–3 person security engineering team within Platform Engineering, owning the security roadmap while remaining hands-on. You will protect the marketplace, customers and data, partnering with Product and Platform Engineering.

The role emphasizes cloud security (GCP, Kubernetes), secure software delivery, threat modelling, and risk-based decisions. You will mentor engineers and drive improvements across incident response.

Qualifications

• Hands-on security engineering experience in software or cloud environments.
• Experience managing engineers, including performance reviews and career development.
• Owned a security roadmap or programme across engineering teams.
• Strong knowledge of application and cloud security, IAM, secrets management.
• Threat modelling, secure code reviews, incident response.
• Ability to develop or automate in Ruby, Python, Go.
• Clear communication with engineers and business partners.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop the security team with regular feedback and career development.
• Own the security engineering roadmap and remove blockers.
• Stay hands-on by building security controls and reviewing code.
• Lead threat modelling and security reviews with early design.
• Improve vulnerability management and remediation prioritization.
• Enhance CI/CD and IaC security checks.
• Coordinate incident response and investigations with cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with Legal, IT and Trust & Safety on controls and audits.
• Report progress and remaining risks to stakeholders.
