Job summary

FairPlay Engineering in Rotterdam seeks an experienced Senior HV Secondary Engineer to lead the design of secondary systems for high- and medium-voltage installations at substations. You will translate functional designs into concrete designs, develop protection, control, SCADA, and monitoring solutions, and prepare technical documentation through project phases, from basic to detailed execution design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering or similar.
• At least 7 years of experience designing complex high- and medium-voltage systems.

Responsibilities

• Translating functional designs into concrete designs and project plans.
• Designing secondary (auxiliary) systems such as protection, control, SCADA, and monitoring systems.
• Designing and verifying integrated solutions based on client specs, standards and regulations.
• Preparing and reviewing technical documentation, drawings, calculations and execution documents.
• Supporting Lead Engineer and Technical Manager through project phases from basic design to detailed execution design.
• Identifying and resolving design bottlenecks, reporting findings and performing quality checks.

As the Senior Engineer within your project team, you are the key designer of the systems required to control, monitor, and protect all high-voltage components installed at substations. This secondary engineering work includes extensions, renovations, and new builds. Your responsibilities include:

• Translating functional designs and requirements into concrete designs and project plans.
• Designing secondary (auxiliary) systems such as protection, control, SCADA, and monitoring systems
• Designing and verifying integrated solutions based on client specifications, technical standards and guidelines, and applicable laws and regulations.
• Preparing and reviewing technical documentation, drawings, calculations, and execution documents.
• Supporting the Lead Engineer and Technical Manager throughout the project phases from basic design in the preparation phase to detailed execution design.
• Identifying and resolving design bottlenecks, reporting findings, and performing quality checks.
