We are looking for a motivated Scientific Software Developer to join our growing team at ALTEN Netherlands. In essence, a scientific software developer is someone who specializes in software design, programming, and testing for our customers who often have complex data pipelines and heavy processing needs.
- Assist in interpreting feature requests and translating them into software requirements.
- Participate in the development of block diagrams.
- Write and test simple Matlab/Python systems and user interfaces.
- Implement basic data processing pipelines.
- Document code and development processes.
- Collaborate with more experienced engineers to review code and troubleshoot issues.
- Participate in team meetings and design reviews.
- 0-2 years of experience in software development.
- Background in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Optics, or related.
- Good problem‑solving skills and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Basic understanding of software design principles, object‑oriented programming.
- Familiarity with MATLAB/Python.
- Familiarity with source control tools (Git, SVN).
- Basic understanding of data engineering.
- English proficiency (written and spoken).
- A 12‑month contract, with the possibility of moving on to a permanent contract
