Job summary

SSC Space Netherlands is looking for a dedicated professional to lead advanced telecommunications ground-segment design and development. You will work on satellite communications systems, containerized architectures, and standardized interfaces, collaborating with international teams to deliver robust solutions for space missions.

The role requires a Master’s in Engineering, at least four years’ relevant experience, and strong knowledge of RF/optical links, QoS, and security.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Engineering or related field.
At least 4 years’ industry experience designing and developing satellite telecom ground segment products.
Expertise in Satellite Communication Digitalization and AI/ML.
Experience with RF and optical communication systems.
Knowledge of QoS, security, IP networking, and air interface tech.
Ability to work autonomously and in international teams.
Fluent in English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

Coordinate initiation of tech and product design for telecom systems.
Support adoption of standardized interfaces (DIFI, VITA-49) for ground stations.
Assist in building containerized ground segment architectures and migration.
Assist in decoupling signal processing from proprietary hardware via SDN/SDR.
Monitor market and tech trends in satellite ground segments.
Provide input for the Department Business Intelligence management system.
Support ESA policy-aligned communication activities.
