Job summary
SSC Space Netherlands is seeking an experienced engineering professional to contribute to satellite telecommunications ground segments and related systems.
You will work in an international, multidisciplinary team, focusing on design, development, and integration of advanced ground station technologies, containerization, SDN/SDR, and AI-driven solutions. Fluency in English and a collaborative mindset are essential.
Qualifications
- University degree or equivalent in engineering or a relevant field.
- 4+ years in design and development of satellite telecom ground/user segment products.
- Fluent in English; able to work autonomously and in international teams.
- Expertise in SDN/SDR, containerization, virtualization, and AI/ML.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the initiation of activities for technology and product design and development for telecommunications systems.
- Support the adoption of standardized digital interfaces for RF/Optical Ground Stations.
- Support projects moving ground station functions into containerized environments.
- Support projects that decouple signal processing from proprietary hardware using SDN/SDR techniques.
- Evaluate, monitor and control contracts related to telecom ground segments.
- Monitor market and technology trends in satellite ground segments.
- Provide input for the Department Business Intelligence management system.
- Support ESA policy-compliant communications activities.
