Job summary

Certhon Build B.V. is seeking a Sales Engineer Greenhouses to translate customer requests into tailored technical designs and costings. You will link sales with engineering, producing optimal greenhouse solutions and engaging with suppliers.

The role involves multi-project management, strong numerical work, and close teamwork with electrical, water, and climate technology specialists. Fluency in Dutch and English is required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or comparable field.
• Affinity with horticultural sector; cost-estimating experience a plus.
• Strong numerical, analytical skills and eye for detail.
• Accurate, eager to learn, collaborative, can switch quickly.
• Great communication in Dutch and English.

Responsibilities

• Create layout drawings in AutoCAD.
• Perform structural calculations in Casta.
• Calculate project costs, including labour, in ERP.
• Consult with suppliers and prepare quotations with the sales team.
• Handover final design and project information to project engineers.

Job description

Whether you’re calculating a project for a greenhouse in the Westland or creating the technical sketch for a project in Poland, you translate a customer’s request into a concrete project.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Sales Engineer Greenhouses, you are the key link between sales and engineering. You translate complex, construction‑related customer requests into a tailored technical design and calculate the project costs. With your knowledge of structural engineering, you will develop the optimal solution.

Your Responsibilities Include

• Creating layout drawings in AutoCAD;
• Performing structural calculations in Casta;
• Calculating project costs, including labor, in our ERP system;
• Consulting with suppliers;
• Preparing the quotation and reviewing it with the sales team. Our sales representatives will present your proposal to the customer;
• Project sold? Then you hand over your design and all project information to the project engineers, who will further develop the project in full detail.

As a Sales Engineer Greenhouses, you work closely within project teams alongside specialists in electrical engineering, water technology, and climate technology. The best part of your work? Every project is unique: always tailored to the client’s needs, suitable for different crops, and built to withstand various weather conditions. This keeps you technically challenged. You will also work on multiple projects at the same time and occasionally join customer meetings to advise them from your area of expertise.

Our greenhouse construction estimating team consists of a close‑knit group of professionals, each with their own experience and expertise. Together with the team lead, four colleagues form a compact team in which we support each other whenever needed. No complicated structures, just short lines of communication and quick decision‑making. We look out for one another and make room for humor whenever possible. A well‑timed joke is part of who we are and contributes to a relaxed, pleasant working atmosphere.

Who are you?

• You have completed a degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a comparable field, and you have relevant work experience in this discipline;
• You have an affinity with the horticultural sector. Experience in horticulture and in a cost‑estimating role is a plus, but not required;
• You are strong with numbers, analytical, and have a keen eye for detail;
• You work accurately, are eager to learn, can switch quickly, and collaborate effectively;
• You have a passion for solving complex technical challenges;
• You have good communication skills in both Dutch and English.
