Job summary

Certhon Build B.V. in Poeldijk, the Netherlands, is seeking a Sales Engineer to translate customer requests into technical designs and quotations for climate installations, greenhouse or indoor farms.

You will create sales drawings in AutoCAD, calculate costs in our ERP, negotiate with suppliers, and present proposals with the sales team. Join Certhon's Climate Sales Engineering team to collaborate with Greenhouse Construction and other engineering teams on globally impactful projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or comparable field with HBO level.
• Two years of relevant work experience preferred.
• Knowledge of climate technology and horticulture is an asset.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Good communication in Dutch and English.

Responsibilities

Job description

Whether it’s a high‑tech greenhouse or an indoor farm equipped with advanced technologies – you find a solution for every challenge. Will you be the one to calculate our next project.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Sales Engineer, you translate the customer's request into a technical design accompanied by a suitable quotation. The best part? The combination of technical and financial aspects ensures that no two days are the same. You will design the most advanced climate installations. Depending on your interests, you will either focus entirely on greenhouse projects or on indoor farms.

Your Responsibilities Include

• Creating sales drawings in AutoCAD;
• Calculating project costs, including labor and transport costs, in our ERP system;
• Communicating with suppliers and negotiating pricing agreements;
• Preparing the quotation and reviewing it with the sales team. Our sales representatives will present your proposal to the customer;
• Project sold? Then you hand over your design and all project information to the project engineers, who will further develop the project in full detail.

Every project is unique: always tailored to the customer's needs, suitable for different crops, and built to withstand various weather conditions. This ensures you remain technically challenged.

You will also work on multiple projects at the same time and occasionally join customer meetings to provide expert advice.

You will join the Climate Sales Engineering team: a small, close‑knit group with an open and informal atmosphere, where collaboration and knowledge sharing are central.

In addition, you will work closely with the Greenhouse Construction, Electrical Engineering, and Water Technology teams. Together, you form one unified technical force.

Who are you?

• You have completed a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a comparable field, operate at a higher professional (HBO) level, and preferably have two years of relevant work experience;
• You have knowledge of climate technology and an affinity with the horticultural sector. Experience in horticulture is required, and experience in cost calculation is an advantage;
• You are strong with numbers, analytical, and have a keen eye for detail;
• You work accurately, are eager to learn, can switch quickly, and collaborate effectively;
• You have a passion for solving complex technical challenges;
• You have good communication skills in both Dutch and English.
