Job summary

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) / Artsen zonder Grenzen in Amsterdam is seeking a Case Officer (French speaker) to lead investigations into Code of Conduct complaints, with a survivor-centred and trauma-informed approach. The role reports to the Case Manager and supports safeguarding across country programmes.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in investigations, fluency in French and English, and experience in high-risk humanitarian contexts.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English and French is mandatory.
• 5+ years’ proven experience in investigations, including high-risk cases.
• Strong analytical and advisory skills; able to handle sensitive cases independently.

Responsibilities

• Lead investigations into Code of Conduct-related complaints, including high-risk cases, with survivor-centred approach.
• Provide empathetic first responses to complainants and ensure risk assessment and protection.
• Plan and lead investigations with minimal operational impact and ensure policy compliance.
• Advise country programme management on complaint management strategies and complex cases.
• Collaborate with Legal, HR and Duty of Care for case intake and referrals.
• Monitor safeguarding incidents and produce reports to strengthen staff skills.
