Jobgether is seeking a Software Engineer (Edge – Devices & Mobile) in the Netherlands. You will build a cross‑platform Rust peer runtime across Windows, Android, Linux, with future macOS expansion, focusing on performance, security, and reliability for a globally distributed fleet.

The role emphasizes ownership of critical infrastructure, collaboration with senior engineers, and contribution to large‑scale data collection systems. Remote work is fully supported.

Competenze

• 5+ years of professional Rust development experience.
• Proven track record shipping cross‑platform Rust apps on two+ OSes (Windows/macOS/Android).
• Strong understanding of OS internals, process management and security considerations.
• Experience with FFI to C/C++ and native OS APIs (JNI/NDK, Win32, POSIX).
• Solid networking knowledge (TCP/TLS/HTTP) and debugging distributed systems.

Mansioni

• Design and maintain a cross‑platform Rust peer runtime for Windows, Android, Linux, with macOS in scope.
• Manage process lifecycles, networking, updates, and reliability across diverse hardware.
• Expand platform support to Android using NDK/JNI and ensure mobile performance.
• Integrate native networking tech (Cronet, C++) into Rust libraries with safe FFI.
• Collaborate across teams, participate in on‑call rotations, and improve deployment processes.
