Jobgether, based in the Netherlands via a partner company, seeks a Software Engineer (Edge – Networking & Fleet) to design and scale edge networking and fleet infrastructure for a large residential device network. You will build a scalable scheduling platform, improve proxy services, and manage devices across Windows, Android, and Linux in a remote-first environment.

You will collaborate with senior engineers to tackle distributed-systems challenges, implement secure multi-layer networking

Competenze

• 5+ years of professional Rust experience, including building and operating production services end to end.
• Experience designing and operating distributed systems at scale (schedulers, control planes).
• Strong understanding of distributed systems concepts (consistency, partitions, backpressure, idempotency).
• Deep networking knowledge: TCP, TLS, HTTP, handshakes, packet-level behavior.
• Experience with gRPC and long-lived connections across NAT/unreliable networks.
• Experience with forward proxies, proxy gateways, or residential/ISP proxy infrastructure.

Mansioni

• Scale the data plane and scheduling capabilities to handle millions of requests per day.
• Build Fleet Manager control plane with adapters, health management, and rollout control.
• Develop provider integrations for onboarding new device sources via standardized workflows.
• Own and improve CONNECT proxy gateway and edge session management with other teams.
• Ensure secure networking using mTLS, gRPC, and streaming over unreliable connections.
• Address NAT and bandwidth challenges, define SLOs, and maintain observability.
• Lead on-call rotation and post-mortems, documenting design improvements.
• Produce technical designs for scheduling, fleet management, and failover strategies.
• Promote best practices in distributed systems and safe deployments.
