Job summary

i3D.net is seeking a Data Center Construction Lead based in Rotterdam to drive the end-to-end build of a new high-density data center. You will own the ready-to-build designs, oversee on-site construction, and coordinate with engineers, contractors, and vendors to ensure safety, quality, and on-time handover.

You will bring deep data center delivery experience, technical authority on power and cooling, and strong communication in English (Dutch a plus).

Qualifications

• Data center delivery leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of data center power and cooling.
• On-site construction leadership experience.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and prioritize under load.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English; Dutch is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design ownership: validate that the ready-to-build design meets business requirements and approve drawings before construction begins.
• Constructive challenge: question assumptions and seek cost-effective, resilient solutions.
• Technical validation: verify cooling, power, redundancy, resilience, space, and structure for high-density workloads.
• Capacity planning: define immediate build needs and future expansion path.
• Site coordination: manage day-to-day construction activities, schedules, milestones, and stakeholder communication.
• Quality and progress: monitor progress, quality, and readiness; address deviations early.
• Risk management: identify, elevate, and resolve project risks and delays.
• Owner representation: act as the on-site primary for contractors and vendors.
• Safety culture: promote safety requirements and compliance on site.
• Handover: support commissioning, testing, turnover, and training.
