Job summary

Kalmar Netherlands is seeking a Service Engineer to be based in Rotterdam, tackling servicing of our high‑complexity spreader equipment. You will deliver on‑site support and preventative maintenance across the Benelux region, with occasional travel in Europe.

In this role you will read electrical and mechanical drawings, apply PLC knowledge, and troubleshoot faults while training customers and documenting activities. English is essential; Dutch is required, German a merit.

Qualifications

• Educational background in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 2 years' service experience with large industrial machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Fluent in English; Dutch required; German a merit.

Responsibilities

• Carry out service operations: preventive maintenance and repairs on spreaders.
• Conduct site inspections and suggest parts, refurbishments, and upgrades.
• Provide technical assistance for installation and troubleshooting.
• Undertake preventative and responsive service calls to meet customer needs.
• Deliver technical training and share knowledge on maintenance and repair.
• Carry out commissioning and installation of new spreaders.
