Job summary

ING Nederland is seeking a Risk AI Data Scientist to drive AI integration in risk management, focusing on credit risk model maintenance and governance. You will shape the cognitive layer of ING's risk ecosystem, turning cutting-edge AI into production-ready, compliant solutions and collaborating across risk domains.

You’ll work with GenAI, RAG systems, and NLP pipelines, handling large structured and unstructured data, and ensuring models are testable and deployable in Azure/Vertex AI

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in mathematics, economics or equivalent.
• 7+ years experience in risk management (risk modelling is a plus).
• Strong Python and SQL skills with ML/AI experience.
• Experience with GenAI, NLP and RAG pipelines is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop custom models by fine-tuning open-weight models on GPUs and integrate into risk workflows.
• Evaluate GenAI systems for reliability and bias; monitor quality and drift.
• Architect Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines for policy documents and regulatory sources.
• Build NLP pipelines to extract signals from unstructured data and convert into usable features.
• Write clean, modular Python code and ensure reproducibility and deployment readiness.
