Job summary

ING invites an intern to help design, build, evaluate, and scale AI-powered software engineering agents supporting the SDLC. You will explore LLMs, Agentic AI, multi-agent orchestration, and modern practices to boost productivity and software delivery.

You will join the Engineering team within ING's Credit Risk domain, modernizing critical apps and adopting AI-assisted software engineering.

Qualifications

Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, AI, Software Engineering, IT, or related field.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Passion for AI and modern software engineering.
Excellent communication and attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Affinity with programming languages (preferably Java), CI/CD, Docker and databases.
Familiar with agentic tools (GitHub Copilot) or MCP.
Familiar with LLMs, RAG, prompt engineering, and multi-agent systems.

Responsibilities

Design AI agents across SDLC phases (Intake, Refinement, Design, Development, Testing, Deployment, Operations).
Define agent responsibilities, inputs, outputs, guardrails, and evaluation criteria.
Create prompt libraries, agent definitions, instructions, skills and reusable workflows.
Evaluate accuracy, consistency, and usefulness of agent outputs.
Measure productivity and quality improvements.
Support governance and responsible-AI practices for engineering agents.
Present findings, demos, and recommendations to teams and stakeholders.
Collaborate with engineers, architects, product owners, and leaders.
Participate in technical discussions, design reviews, and innovation initiatives.
