Job summary

Optiver is seeking an RF Systems Engineer to design, integrate, and improve analog RF subsystems behind HF communication systems. You will own both receive and transmit chains, work with high-power hardware, and optimize impedance matching for antennas and arrays.

You will also simulate, model, and measure across link budgets and validate improvements with real data. You will collaborate with system, algorithm, digital hardware, software, and test engineers, translating objectives into RF

Qualifications

• BS or higher in Electrical Engineering, RF/Microwave Engineering, Applied Physics or a related discipline.
• Strong foundation in analog RF: S-parameters, matching and cascaded gain/noise.
• Knowledge of low-noise receiver design and antenna arrays is important.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, integration, characterization and performance of the analog RF receive and transmit chains.
• Characterize gain, efficiency, linearity, harmonics, thermal behavior and load-mismatch tolerance.
• Design impedance-matching and tuning solutions for changing antenna loads.
• Develop low-power receive chains including LNAs, filters, switches and matching networks.
• Simulate antennas and arrays using NEC, FEKO, CST or HFSS and validate with measurements.
• Combine simulation, analytical modeling and measurements in Python to identify system limitations.
• Define and execute test strategies at component, subsystem and integration level.
