Job description

Commercial Engineer – AI, Automation & Revenue Operations

About Nebul

At Nebul, we are building Europe’s Intelligent Cloud: a new generation of AI-native cloud infrastructure that allows organizations to build, own and continuously improve the intelligence that powers their business.

Our platform brings together intelligence, data and supercompute infrastructure under the principles of ownership, trust and control.

Building Europe’s Intelligent Cloud requires more than exceptional technology. It also requires a commercial organization capable of scaling across Europe with speed, intelligence and precision.

Commercial excellence is not created through heroics or repetitive manual work. It is built through outstanding systems, trusted data, intelligent automation and continuous improvement.

That is why we are looking for a Commercial Engineer.

The Role

As Commercial Engineer, you will design and build Nebul’s commercial operating system.

You will combine commercial systems, AI, automation, integrations and data to enable our Business Development and Customer Success teams to operate with greater speed, insight and consistency.

You will not inherit a mature CRM environment.

You will design it.

You will not simply optimize existing commercial processes.

You will build them.

You will not spend your time maintaining systems or manually producing reports. You will engineer the commercial platform that enables Nebul to identify the right markets, engage the right customers, make better decisions and scale across Europe.

Working directly with the Commercial Director and closely with Business Development, Customer Success, Marketing, Product, Finance and Leadership, your mission is simple:

Make every commercial professional dramatically more effective.

What You’ll Do

Commercial Systems

  • Design and build Nebul’s commercial technology architecture.
  • Own the CRM environment and commercial process lifecycle.
  • Select, implement and optimize commercial tools.
  • Build integrations between CRM, marketing, customer-success, financial and operational systems.
  • Create a trusted commercial data platform.
  • Develop proposal, quotation and contract-management workflows.
  • Ensure commercial interactions are intuitive, automated, measurable and properly documented.
  • Establish clear data ownership, definitions and system governance.
  • Eliminate duplicate tools, fragmented data and unnecessary manual processes.
  • Design Nebul’s Ideal Customer Profiles.
  • Build and maintain target-account lists.
  • Develop market and customer segmentation.
  • Build contact-enrichment and data-validation workflows.
  • Map buying committees and decision-making structures.
  • Develop competitive and market intelligence.
  • Create executive dashboards and commercial-performance insights.
  • Build reporting that shows where the commercial organization should focus.
  • Ensure Business Development spends time engaging customers rather than searching for information.

Commercial Automation

  • Design AI-powered commercial workflows.
  • Automate account and market research.
  • Build AI-assisted prospecting capabilities.
  • Develop proposal and commercial-document automation.
  • Build customer-onboarding workflows.
  • Create internal commercial AI assistants.
  • Automate repetitive data-entry and administrative activities.
  • Identify high-friction workflows and redesign them from first principles.
  • Continuously reduce the amount of manual work required throughout the customer lifecycle.
  • Design Nebul’s lead-to-customer process.
  • Establish pipeline stages, definitions and governance.
  • Build reliable forecasting methodologies.
  • Create commercial playbooks.
  • Define and implement commercial KPIs.
  • Improve data quality, consistency and accountability.
  • Build scalable processes that support Business Development and Customer Success.
  • Translate commercial strategy into systems, workflows and measurable execution.
  • Create an organization that scales through systems rather than individual effort.
What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who thinks in systems.

You enjoy solving a problem once instead of repeatedly working around it. You naturally automate repetitive work, care deeply about clean data and elegant processes, and enjoy understanding how people work so you can design systems that make them more effective.

You do not see CRM as a reporting database or Commercial Operations as a support function.

You see the commercial organization as a system that can be designed, engineered, measured and continuously improved.

You also do not see AI as just another tool. You understand that AI will become part of the operating system of the modern commercial organization.

Most importantly, you measure your success by the productivity and effectiveness you create for everyone around you.

You bring experience in several of the following areas:

  • Commercial Operations, Revenue Operations or Sales Operations.
  • CRM architecture using HubSpot, Salesforce or comparable platforms.
  • Designing commercial workflows and lifecycle processes.
  • Workflow automation and orchestration.
  • API integrations and system connectivity.
  • Commercial analytics and business intelligence.
  • Data modelling, enrichment, validation and governance.
  • Building dashboards and forecasting systems.
  • AI-assisted research, prospecting or customer workflows.
  • Proposal, quotation or contract automation.
  • Customer onboarding and lifecycle automation.
  • Working in high-growth technology companies.
  • Translating commercial requirements into technical solutions.
  • Designing systems that are intuitive for non-technical users.
  • Working directly with senior commercial and executive stakeholders.
Bonus Points

Experience with AI agents, orchestration frameworks, large language models, modern workflow-automation platforms or commercial AI assistants is a strong advantage.

Experience with tools such as HubSpot, Salesforce, Clay, n8n, Make, Zapier, Workato, Outreach, Apollo, Common Room, Gong, Power BI, Tableau, Looker or similar commercial and data platforms is valuable.

A background in software engineering, data engineering, business intelligence, solution architecture or technical product management is also highly relevant.

Experience in cloud, AI, infrastructure, enterprise software or another complex B2B technology environment is an advantage.

This Role Is Probably Not for You If
  • You enjoy maintaining systems more than building them.
  • You wait for detailed requirements instead of identifying better solutions.
  • You see CRM primarily as a reporting tool.
  • You accept manual work that could reasonably be automated.
  • You prefer predictable operational environments over building new capabilities.
  • You are looking for a narrowly defined support or administration role.
  • You focus on individual tools without considering the complete commercial system.
  • You prefer producing reports over improving the underlying data and processes.
  • You are uncomfortable experimenting with AI, automation and new technologies.
This Role Is for You If
  • You enjoy building systems from scratch.
  • You believe engineering principles belong in commercial organizations.
  • You love combining technology, AI, automation and data.
  • Identify inefficiencies and turn them into scalable solutions.
  • You care about the experience of the people using the systems you build.
  • You measure success by how much more effective others become because of your work.
  • You want to build the commercial operating system behind one of Europe’s most ambitious technology companies.
  • You believe AI will fundamentally change how commercial organizations operate.
Why Nebul

At most companies, Commercial Operations supports Sales.

At Nebul, the Commercial Engineer builds the platform that enables the company to grow.

The systems, intelligence and automation you create will shape how Nebul identifies markets, selects accounts, engages customers, manages opportunities, forecasts growth and scales across Europe.

You will have substantial ownership and the opportunity to design the commercial environment from the ground up. You will work closely with commercial leadership and directly influence the tools, data, processes and AI capabilities used across the organization.

You will not simply implement tools.

You will engineer one of Nebul’s core capabilities.

Requirements
  • Experience in Commercial Operations, Revenue Operations, Sales Operations, CRM architecture, automation, data or a related field.
  • Demonstrable experience building or significantly improving commercial systems and processes.
  • Strong understanding of CRM architecture and lifecycle management.
  • Experience building workflows and integrations between multiple systems.
  • Strong analytical skills and a high standard for data quality.
  • The ability to understand commercial problems and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
  • A strong interest in AI-assisted workflows and modern automation.
  • The ability to work independently in an environment where not all requirements have been defined.
  • Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills.
  • A builder mentality with a bias toward ownership, experimentation and delivery.
  • The ability to balance speed with system quality, governance and long-term scalability.
