Job summary

Swisslog is expanding its maintenance team at our customer’s new automated warehouse in Barendrecht. We are looking for a motivated and hands-on Resident Engineer to join our dedicated team, working 40 hours over extended (mainly) 2-shifts.

You will perform electro-mechanical preventive and corrective maintenance on automated material handling systems, including Autostore and conveyors, and act as Swisslog's on-site representative for Albert Heijn, ensuring safe and efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Technical maintenance background required.
• Experience with automated equipment is a plus.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance is expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform electro-mechanical preventive and corrective maintenance on automated material handling systems.
• Diagnose faults and escalate to remote specialists when needed.

We are looking for a motivated and hands‑on Resident Engineer to join our dedicated team. In this position, you will work 40 hours in extended (mainly) 2-shifts. You will work in a team with 6 colleagues, the operating hours are between 6am - 11pm, 5 days per week including weekends on rotation.Please note: This is a permanent position, starting with a 12-month contract.

• Performing electro-mechanical preventive and corrective maintenance on automated material handling systems, including Autostore and conveyors, in line with Swisslog quality standards.


• Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electronic faults, escalating to remote specialists when needed.


• Ensure safe, efficient operations by following planned preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules.


• Act as the on-site representative of Swisslog, building and maintaining strong customer relationships with Albert Heijn.

Application Requirements What you need to succeed

• Technical education in mechanical / electrical maintenance or mechatronics


• Customer and service oriented mindset and strong communication skills


• Knowledge of preventive maintenance methods and schedules


• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)


• Experience working on automated equipment such as conveyors and robots is an advantage but not strictly required


• Reside within less than 1 hour driving distance from Barendrecht


• Hold a valid driving license


• Comfortable communicating in English (main team language); knowledge of Dutch is a strong plus.
