Flextronics - The Flex Company's MCi unit is seeking a Research Engineer to design innovative mechatronic actuators with embedded software and to identify market needs, competitive differentiators, and IP opportunities. You’ll work with business development and technology experts to define product requirements and contribute to the MCi Technology Roadmap.

You will gather market needs, translate them into system requirements, conduct technology trend analysis, and partner with OEMs and suppliers.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering or Industrial Design.
  • 5 years of experience in the development of mechatronic actuation.
  • Strong knowledge of motors, gearboxes/reducers, sensors, motion controls and embedded systems.
  • Experience working with customers, suppliers and OEMs, or automation companies.
  • Ability to translate customer needs into technical requirements and product specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Gather market needs and translate into product system requirements.
  • Design concepts for mechatronic actuators.
  • Conduct patent research and identify IP opportunities.
  • Support Business Development with new markets and products.
  • Provide technical leadership in early phases of multidisciplinary projects.
