Job summary

Ghost is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to own how we find, fix, and prevent security issues across our platform. You’ll be the sole security owner, guiding disclosure, writing patches in Node.js/TypeScript, and shaping security checks for every pull request.

You’ll work with a remote, international team and help harden the platform, train engineers, and drive a culture of secure software throughout the Ghost stack.

Qualifications

• Deep in web application security.
• Experience securing a real product and writing patches.
• Experience with coordinated disclosure and working with researchers.
• Practical about AI in security and review of machine-written code.
• Clear writer with ability to produce advisories and peer reviews.
• Willingness to own security with high ownership and low ego.

Responsibilities

• Own the disclosure lifecycle and publish advisories.
• Fix security issues by writing patches in Node.js/TypeScript.
• Design security checks for PRs and threat modelling.
• Build tooling to automate triage and classification.
• Teach the team through guidance and sessions.
• Harden Ghost(Pro) infrastructure and participate in on-call rotation.
