Job summary

Sprint and Partners in Amsterdam is seeking a senior security engineer to build the core security function for a fast-growing AI-native scale-up. You will be the first full-time security hire, collaborating with a fractional CISO to shape security standards and practices across the platform.

You will own security in a high-velocity environment, addressing AI agent security, access control, threat modelling, and secure development workflows while enabling rapid product delivery and growth.

Qualifications

• Strong application and product security knowledge across multiple domains.
• Experience reading/writing code and building automation.
• Experience with IAM and cloud security; modern development workflows.
• Experience securing AI or agent-based systems is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Product and application security: authorization, customer data separation, trust boundaries and secure code reviews.
• Identity and access management across the product and internal environment.
• Threat modelling with engineers while new features are designed.
• Cloud and delivery security, including CI/CD controls, infrastructure hardening and software supply chain risks.
• Detection, alerting and incident readiness: improving visibility and ensuring controls work in practice.
• Security automation to reduce manual work and accelerate engineering velocity.
• New AI agent security challenges including tool permissions, prompt injection and sandboxing.

Do you want to help build the security function at a fastgrowing AI native scale-up that just raised a very solid seed round?

You’ll be the first full-time security hire with massive impact on the core platform. You'll be onboarded by the fractional ciso who is one of the best and you'll take over from there. There's a foundation to build on, plenty to shape and the opportunity to take broader ownership and significant career steps as the company grows. The stack is truely cutting edge and this is the place to get your hands dirty all the new AI Security standards/practices (if you don't own this already).

What you’ll work on:

• Product and application security: authorization, customer data separation, trust boundaries and secure code reviews.
• Identity and access management across the product and internal environment.
• Threat modelling with engineers while new features are being designed.
• Cloud and delivery security, including CI/CD controls, infrastructure hardening and software supply chain risks.
• Detection, alerting and incident readiness: improving visibility and making sure controls work in practice.
• Security automation that reduces manual work and helps engineering move quickly.
• New security challenges around AI agents, including tool permissions, prompt injection and sandboxing.

Who I’d like to speak to:

• Senior security engineers with strong application/product security knowledge and experience across several security domains.
• Security Engineers who can read/write code, discuss architecture and write scripts or automation where needed.
• Strong experience with IAM, authorization models, cloud security and modern development workflows.
• People who use AI tools regularly and can critically assess their output.
• Pragmatic builders who enjoy the ownership, pace and evolving priorities of a scale-up.
• Experience securing AI or agent-based systems would be a strong bonus. You can also bring solid security fundamentals and develop that expertise alongside the team.
