Job summary

Jobgether, listing on behalf of a partner company, seeks a Python Developer based in the Netherlands. You will build and maintain scalable applications with a focus on payments, APIs, and third‑party integrations, using FastAPI, Django, PostgreSQL, Docker, and Kubernetes.

The role is fully remote, full‑time, and emphasizes AI-assisted development, security, and reliability, with collaboration across teams and external PSPs to deliver robust digital payment solutions.

Qualifications

• At least two years of commercial Python development experience.
• Hands-on experience with AI-powered coding tools like Claude Code or OpenAI Codex.
• Strong practical experience with FastAPI and/or Django for web apps and APIs.
• Solid understanding of asynchronous programming in Python (asyncio, async/await).
• Good knowledge of PostgreSQL; experience with MongoDB and Redis is a plus.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes deployment and operations.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, preferably GitLab CI/CD.
• Ability to write clean, scalable, testable code and follow engineering best practices.
• English proficiency at B1 level or above.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize backend and frontend services using Python for high performance and scalability.
• Design, build, and maintain REST APIs for payment processing and third-party integrations.
• Integrate external PSPs, including pay-in/pay-out, status callbacks, and transaction lifecycle.
• Ensure secure, reliable processing of payments and sensitive data.
• Incorporate AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and code quality.
• Deploy, operate, and maintain services in Kubernetes environments.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement reliability improvements.
• Write clean code and automated tests to reduce regression risks.
• Participate in code reviews, discussions, and release processes.
