Job summary

Jobgether is seeking an experienced OpenBao Developer based in the Netherlands to design, implement, and secure backend features for a cloud-native identity platform. You will work remotely with a globally distributed team, contributing to plugin architectures, storage backends, and secrets engines while maintaining high code quality and security standards.

You will collaborate with leadership on architecture, RFCs, and roadmaps, translating plans into concrete tasks, tests, and reliable

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years backend or systems software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Go (Golang) including production-grade development and concurrency.
• Solid understanding of security fundamentals including PKI/TLS and cryptographic concepts.
• Ability to design secure, maintainable backend code and contribute to architecture discussions.
• Experience with Linux, containerization, and IaC tools is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain core OpenBao features, plugins, and storage backends in Go.
• Collaborate on system architecture and technical RFCs with engineering leadership.
• Translate roadmaps into actionable engineering tasks and deliverables.
• Write secure, efficient Go code following cryptographic best practices.
• Review vulnerabilities and contribute to platform security and reliability.
• Engage in upstream open-source development and community PRs.
