UN Women ECARO seeks a Gender and Environmental Human Rights Specialist on a home-based consultancy. You will develop a regional POWW factsheet focusing on women environmental human rights defenders (WEHRDs) and link policy messages to UN mechanisms and regional frameworks.

The role requires strong analytical skills and experience in gender equality, climate governance, and human rights protection. You will engage with civil society, experts, and defenders, delivering concise policy-oriented

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• At least 7 years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience with gender equality, climate change, or human rights.
• Ability to deliver concise, policy-oriented outputs under tight timelines.

Responsabilités

• Produce a regional POWW factsheet on WEHRDs (10–15 pages) with clear policy relevance.
• Identify risks, barriers to participation, and gender-responsive perspectives.
• Incorporate evidence on governance frameworks and protection considerations.
• Develop messages and recommendations for policymakers and UN partners.
