NN Group is seeking an experienced Data Engineering Lead / Evangelist for the Data & AI department. You will combine hands-on technical work with community building, inspiring a global network of 350+ engineers across NN Group and beyond.

The role focuses on shaping data engineering practices, promoting learning, and driving standards and best practices across teams. Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of data engineering experience, Databricks familiarity, strong communication skills, and a passion

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Platform Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong hands-on experience with modern data platforms and lakehouse technologies; Databricks experience is a strong plus.
• Deep understanding of data engineering principles: data modeling, distributed processing, ingestion, transformation, data quality, observability.
• Experience designing and promoting reusable engineering practices and standards.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences.
• Comfortable influencing across teams and organizational boundaries.
• A continuous learning mindset and enthusiasm for sharing knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Inspire and support a global community of 350+ data engineers and platform engineers.
• Organize guild events, technical meetups, hackathons and community initiatives.
• Create opportunities for engineers to learn from each other and share successes, challenges, and lessons learned.
• Promote pragmatic engineering approaches that improve quality, reliability, and maintainability.
• Own and enhance NN's Data Engineering Learning Track within the Data Literacy Program.
• Mentor engineers at different career stages and help identify growth opportunities.
